Course Description: The Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor program is an intermediate 6 month in-depth transformational learning journey. The 6 month long program teaches a comprehensive Ayurvedic education and upon completion the students will be CAISH AWARDED as an Ayurvedic Counselor. Students will gain a strong knowledge of Ayurvedic philosophy, theory and principles incorporating the mind, body, spirit and senses for health and wellbeing.

- Study of Ayurvedic concepts of health and disease.
- Understanding and determination of doshas (constitutions).
- Practical application of Ayurvedic Nutrition and Lifestyle.
- Be able to draw effective dietary plan and self-care recommendations.
Prerequisite: High School or pre-university or Yoga Training with ASCC program completion [or equivalent – 200 hour certification program in Ayurveda]
Tuition: $3,500 CAD plus applicable taxes.
Duration of the Program: 6 months. Alternate weekend classes and 1 weekday evening class to assist with case studies and practical’s.
Hours of Study Breakdown: 300 Total Hours of which 240 are in class hours and 60 are home study/reading and independent case studies. In order to be certified students must complete 15 case studies.

Scope of Practice: Knowledge gained from this program can be applied when seeing clients and provide them with a basic guideline using Ayurvedic knowledge (dietary and lifestyle changes). CAISH will guide students to acquire liability insurance as well as discuss the scope of practice in detail during class.
What’s Next?: Students who are awarded the AWC certification can apply for Advanced Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor program (AAWC) as well as Principles and Practices of Natural Medicine (PPNM) in order to obtain licensing through EBNMP Canada to practice professionally (private clinics etc.).
Students who are interested in Ayurvedic Therapies and body work can enroll in Ayurvedic Panchakarma Therapist Program (APT).
