Festivals and celebrations are a time of enjoyment, sharing, greeting and uniting. Unfortunately, before we celebrate, we allow ourselves to become extremely stressed with shopping, planning, organizing and attending.
Ayurvedic medicine very clearly addresses this in ancient texts written approximately 3,000 years back by one of the fathers of Ayurveda, Charaka. He mentions that there are four major factors that affects one’s health and wellbeing:
  1. Internal factors like diet, food, medicine and related toxicity.
  2. External factors such as climate and environment.
  3. Natural factors like birthing, aging and hunger.
  4. Psycho-emotional factors such as expectation, greed, falsehood, fear and sorrow that can lead to ill health and dis-ease.
